GLOBAL HEALTH WORKFORCE ALLIANCE

Award for Excellence

In January 2011, recognizing its Rural Staff Support Program, NSI won an award for excellence from the Global Health Workforce Alliance (GHWA).

GHWA (headquartered under the WHO) is a coalition of government ministries, external development partners, and academic institutions committed to improving human resources for health, especially in underserved areas of the world.

In January 2011, GHWA conducted its second Global Forum in Bangkok (the first led to the Kampala Declaration of 2008).

In Bangkok, GHWA nominated NSI's Rural Staff Support Program as one of 36 semi-finalists for an award for excellence and then selected the Nepal program for one of 6 country awards.
