Detailed NSI Volunteer Needs

How can I help?

To make a difference in Nepal.

Today there is a fresh upsurge of hope and a renewal of a vision for a better and more peaceful country. The ravages of war and neglect have taken their toll on Nepal's health care infrastructure, and delivering care to those who need it most will be a vital step in helping the country to heal itself. NSI is seeking people and organizations who want to join with us in reaching beyond their usual borders of care.

Nick Simons Institute Needs:

  • Medical teachers - and not just doctors.
  • Education specialists - to help plan programs, write curricula, and implement training.
  • Primary school teachers - for its programs which will support schools that are attached to remote hospitals.
  • Researchers - with energy and ready for new challenges.
  • Consultants in marketing and design.
  • Your friendship and prayer.
Matt Griffith is a medical student at Stony Brook, NY. In the summer 2006, as part of his studies, he contributed to a research project that examined the inequitable distribution of health care workers in Nepal. Traveling with a Nepali doctor to remote locations across the country, he performed a baseline assessment for future NSI intervention.
